Skills Payments
Rotherham Borough Council's Fostering Service have developed a Payment for Skills Scheme that is paid in addition to the fostering allowance.
This scheme allows carers to progress through three levels, and receive an additional skills-based payment as they gain more experience and develop their skills through training and hands-on experience. Each level has a clearly defined set of skills that foster carers have to meet. From October 2011, the fees were increased significantly to:
Level 1 carers = £25 per week
Level 2 carers = £75 per week
Level 3 carers = £150 per week
